Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Journeyman IT Technology Specialist to support the Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS). The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity and security of financial data. The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing various tools and evolving technologies to build and analyze financial data, ensuring scalable and optimized solutions. The person will also support the DEAMS Functional Management Office (FMO), Air Force Accounting Operations Center (AFAOC), and Air Force field commands' use of the DEAMS application.

Duties and experiences include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Utilize a variety of tools and emerging technologies to build and analyze financial data, ensuring optimized solutions and scalability for assigned tasks.
  • Maintain precise transactional-level system reporting for direct user consumption, with mandatory data refreshes at least twice per workday or as directed by government requirements.
  • Develop additional analytical tools based on Government-approved requirements to enhance system reporting capabilities.
  • Implement audit solutions within the AFAOC Infrastructure to improve data quality, automate data analysis processes, and reduce Notice of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs).
  • The role includes systems management and integration functions, improving existing computer systems, and reviewing system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitations.
  • The candidate may also analyze or recommend commercially available software.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3 to 10 years of experience
  • Willingness to travel and provide hands-on training and support

Desired Experience:

  • Working knowledge of DoD Financial Management systems, processes, and procedures
  • Working knowledge of Air Force Financial Management systems, processes, and procedures
  • Functional knowledge of Federal applications of Oracle eBusiness software
  • Technical knowledge of Federal applications of Oracle eBusiness software
  • Functional Experience with Oracle Federal Financial audit capabilities
  • Working knowledge of DoD legacy financial management systems and processes
  • Working knowledge of Federal and Defense financial audit processes
  • Functional Expertise in operational Standard Financial Information Structure (SFIS)

Certification Requirements:

Desired Certifications

  • Agile software certifications, including scrum master or product owner
  • Certifications in SAFe Agile Framework
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Functional Experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Functional Experience as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Functional and Technical Experience as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) Certification
  • Government Financial Manager (CGFM) Certification
