We have an exciting opportunity for an Orion Avionics Simulation Lab Ops Admin to join our team with JETS teammate company, HX5.

The Orion Avionics Simulation Lab Ops Admin will:

  • Operate and maintain the Orion avionics simulation environment hardware and software in the Kedalion Lab
  • Perform Linux/Unix system administration, communication, user authentication and storage design, development and maintenance
  • Perform Server maintenance and backup
  • Tune systems and network to meet customer needs
  • Operate a helpdesk
  • Understand and integrate leading edge computer technology to improve simulator infrastructure
  • Perform rapid troubleshooting in resolving lab and computer system issues
  • Work as a team member in other simulator teams in support of their need for computational platforms
  • Coordinate with external organization to perform security remediation
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers and be customer-focused
  • Perform other duties as assigned

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position. - Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Mandatory:

BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Network analysis, configuration and administration
  • Linux/Unix System Administration
  • Firewall maintenance and administration
  • Automation of system maintenance and reporting via scripting
  • Security planning, implementation, and maintenance
  • Software license management
  • LDAP user authentication mechanisms familiarity

  • Hardware and software integration
  • System and software configuration management
  • System tuning and performance analysis
  • System requirements analysis
  • JSC network familiarity
  • Installation, maintenance and backup of Oracle databases
  • Data acquisition and processing

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time). Equipment and Machines Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.). Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
